I’ve had a great experience with Holmes Seed Company. The germination rate of their seeds has been excellent, and I’ve had great success growing their seeds. One thing I appreciate is the amount of useful information provided on their website. They include details like disease resistance that you don’t see when buying seeds elsewhere, which makes it much easier to choose varieties suited to your growing conditions. They offer a great selection of varieties I haven’t seen at other companies or in local stores. Between the quality of the seeds, the detailed information, and the unique varieties they carry, Holmes Seed Company has become my go-to sources for seeds. I recommend giving them a try!

I never gave much thought to where I bought my seeds—I used to shop strictly by price at drug stores and big box retailers. After dealing with plant diseases, poor germination rates, and inaccurate seed counts last year, I knew I needed a better source. That’s when I found Holmes Seed Company, and the difference has been incredible. I signed up for their catalog mailing list, and it’s packed with useful information—not just products, but real education about seed quality, varieties, and growing success. For 2026, I selected 24 vegetable varieties and visited their store in person. The staff’s knowledge and deep understanding of seeds truly impressed me. They answered questions I didn’t even know I should be asking. Holmes Seed Company is the real deal—high-quality seeds, reliable germination, and expert guidance. I’m grateful they’re open to the public. I now feel like I’m planting on the same level as professional greenhouse growers. Highly recommend to any serious gardener or grower! The Garden Father

If you are looking for a quality seeds with exceptional germination rates, look no further. Holmes has been my go-to choice for seeds over the past 3 years. I have started to wane off of other suppliers and grow my orders with Holmes. They are very knowledgeable and have the best customer service around. They treat every customer as if they matter to them no matter how small or large your order is. I have attached pictures of some of the seedlings I have grown from their seeds. Holmes is now my first choice when I go to look for seeds and my number 1 recommendation. They have a large variety of vegetable seeds and offer quantities that appeal to home gardeners, market farmers, and full scale farm operations. I LOVE their catalog and it is a staple in my house all winter as I plan out my seed orders and select varieties. All this to say, If you are on the fence, make the jump, you wont regret it. Your only regret will be not giving them your business sooner.

I had bad luck with my first order because I did something wrong out of ignorance. After I exchanged emails with Brian the company replaced my seeds no charge which was not necessary as it was my mistake. The photos you see of what has been picked is what did finally come up from the first batch. The others are from my heated garage with grow lights planted, watered, and fertilized correctly with a 99% germination rate. They will be ready to eat very soon. The customer service from Holmes and Brian has been phenominal and I have already placed my 2025 order and expect complete success this next growing season.
